NWS Forecasts Severe Storms Tonight (Feb 02, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The National Weather Service says high winds, heavy rain and large hail are possible as a storm system makes its way across the state.

Forecasters say there's a slight risk of severe storms across portions of western and central Oklahoma. The storms are expected to move into the area in the early to mid-evening hours Thursday, then move eastward.

The weather service says the areas at risk are south of a line from Buffalo to Cherokee to Guthrie, and west of a line from Guthrie to Duncan.

Forecasters say parts of the state could see hail the size of half-dollars. Storms are expected throughout the day Friday, but dry weather is predicted from Saturday into early next week.
