Will Rogers Airport to Adopt New Security (Feb 24, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City is preparing to install full body scanners at its security checkpoints.

The Transportation Security Administration says the scanners will be operating by March 7.

Oklahoma City television station KWTV reports the scanners are to be installed on Monday.

The airport says the machines won't display specific images of a person's body but will detect potentially dangerous items, such as explosives and weapons.

Passengers who don't want to be scanned can opt for alternative screening that includes a pat down.
