More Oklahoma Soldiers Returning From Deployments (Mar 28, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - More Oklahoma National Guard soldiers returned to the state following deployments to Afghanistan and Kuwait.

Officials say about 250 members of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team arrived on Wednesday and nearly 200 are scheduled to come in Thursday.

All will be welcomed back at the Army Aviation hangar at the Will Rogers Air National Guard Base near Will Rogers World Airport.

Officials say more soldiers could return on Friday and Saturday.

Nearly 2,200 National Guard soldiers from the 45th were deployed in June to Afghanistan, and an additional 800 went to Kuwait.

Most of them have returned, and the last group is expected to reach Mississippi for de-mobilization processing before the end of the month.
