Retired OKC Doctor Elected OU Regents Chair (Mar 29, 2012)

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - A retired Oklahoma City doctor has been elected chairman of the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents.

Dr. Leslie Rainbolt-Forbes was elected to the position Wednesday during the board's regular meeting in Norman.

An appointee of former Gov. Brad Henry in 2006, Rainbolt-Forbes served on the OU College of Medicine faculty as an assistant clinical professor until her retirement from practice as a pediatric dermatologist. She replaces former chairman Dr. John Bell, an ophthalmologist from Norman.

Richard Dunning of Oklahoma City, another Henry appointee, replaces Rainbolt-Forbes as vice chairman of the board.

The seven-member OU Board of Regents is the governing body of the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University in Lawton and Rogers State University in Claremore.
