Tulsa Company Announces Expansion (Mar 30, 2012)

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A Tulsa-based industrial supplier says it plans to add 600 jobs over the next 10 years - including 100 positions this year.

ORS Nasco Inc. supplies parts for the oil field, construction, welding, electrical and safety sectors. It's based in Tulsa after moving its company headquarters from Muskogee five years ago.

Company president Larry Davis tells the Journal Record that 60 of the new jobs will be in the Oklahoma market. Davis says the company is adding jobs in sales, information and marketing.

He says the company is targeting oil-rich segments of the country, including the Bakken Shale play in North Dakota and Montana.

The Tulsa Metro Chamber says the 600 jobs over 10 years could have an economic impact of $131.2 million on the 11-county area surrounding Tulsa.
