Senators Reach Agreement on Bond Issue (Apr 05, 2012)

(ECapitol) - Three state senators announced Thursday that an agreement has been reached to consider legislation calling for reforms of the American Indian Cultural Center and Museum before any additional bond issue for the project is considered.

Sens. Cliff Aldridge, R-Midwest City; Patrick Anderson, R-Enid; and Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, said in a press release that the agreement between Gov. Mary Fallin and legislative leaders calls for:

• The governor to request an audit of the museum;

• Legislation to consolidate the agency under the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation department; and

• A requirement for submission to all legislators a completion plan of the museum with a full accounting of all costs.
