Oklahoma Voices: Women in Recovery Graduation (Apr 30, 2012)

This month at the state Capitol there was a graduation for a small, select group of people seeking to make major changes in how they live. These 18 women recently completed the Women in Recovery program. WIR is an alternative to incarceration program for nonviolent female offenders in Tulsa County who have alcohol and drug addictions. This group was the program’s sixth and largest graduating class. The program is funded by George Kaiser Family Foundation and operated by Family & Children’s Services in Tulsa. The George Kaiser Family Foundation is also an underwriter of KGOU. On this episode of Oklahoma Voices we bring you audio of the graduation ceremony held in the Governor’s Blue Room on April 18.
