OU Student Death Ruled "Accident" (Jun 05, 2012)

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The death of a University of Oklahoma student whose body was found near a campus administrative building has been ruled an accident.

The state medical examiner says Casey Cooke died from blunt force trauma to the head and chest and that the death was accidental. Cooke was from Edmond and had recently graduated with a degree in zoology.

Her family tells Oklahoma City television station KOCO that Cooke was working on a second degree in Spanish and was in the process of applying to medical school.

A funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday in Oklahoma City.

Cooke was found at about 3 a.m. Sunday lying near Evans Hall on campus.
