OK Regents for Higher Ed Approve Tuition Increase (Jun 21, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education has approved tuition increases for 25 state colleges and universities.

The regents met Thursday in Oklahoma City and approved a 2.8 percent increase at Oklahoma State University and a 3 percent increase at the University of Oklahoma.

A board analysis of the requests had recommended that the regents approve all the increases.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma State Board of Regents for Higher Education have elected Ike Glass Jr. of Newkirk as new chairman of the board that oversees Oklahoma's colleges and universities.

The board voted Thursday to elect Glass chairman, Jimmy Harrel vice chairman, Mike Turpen secretary and John Massey assistant secretary.

Glass succeeds Julie Carson, whose term as chairman ended.

Glass was first appointed to the board in 1997 by Gov. Frank Keating and was reappointed in 2007 by Gov. Brad Henry.
