OKC FBI Agent Charged With Embezzlement (Jul 05, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City FBI agent has been charged with embezzlement for allegedly taking public funds that were supposed to go to confidential informants.

Federal prosecutors charged Timothy Klotz last week with embezzlement of public money in excess of $1,000.

The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/OoSYQ2) reports that Klotz is accused of the forging signatures of FBI agents or U.S. Air Force special investigators on 66 false receipts. Klotz signed a statement that said he was entrusted money from the Confidential Human Source fund.

In the statement Klotz signed, he agreed to plead guilty to the felony charge. A hearing is set for July 13.

His attorney, Michael Johnson, says Klotz has taken full responsibility for any actions that have caused losses or harm.

Klotz was suspended without pay and has filed for bankruptcy.
