OK Energy Officials Testify On Gov Regulations (Jul 13, 2012)

EDMOND, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma energy industry officials testified before a congressional committee hearing in Edmond that federal regulations are hampering an opportunity for growth in the oil and natural gas industries.

The spoke Friday at a field hearing at the University of Central Oklahoma hosted by Republican U.S. Rep. James Langford of Oklahoma and Republican Rep. Darrell Issa of California.

State Energy Secretary Michael Ming testified that the industries have an opportunity to be a driver of the economy. He said that the easing of federal regulations on the energy industries could result in the U.S. meeting all its energy needs with oil, natural gas and other energy products produced only in North America.
