Oklahoma County Issues Burn Ban (Jul 19, 2012) OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma County has issued a 30-day burn ban, effective immediately. The Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously Thursday to approve a resolution that bans all outdoor burning in the county. Oklahoma City television station KOCO reports that the ban makes it illegal for anyone to set fires outsides, build a campfire or bonfire or to burn trash. Anyone who violates the burn ban will face up to a $500 fine and a year in jail. The ban does not prohibit the use of charcoal or gas grills. « back |
