AG Pruitt Makes OEC Appointment (Aug 01, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Attorney General Scott Pruitt has appointed a former prosecutor to the Oklahoma Ethics Commission.

Pruitt says Cathy Stocker of Enid will serve a five-year term on the commission.

Stocker served for 28 years as district attorney for District 4, which includes Garfield, Blaine, Canadian, Grant and Kingfisher counties. She has also served as chairwoman of the District Attorneys Council and as president of the Oklahoma District Attorneys Association.

She received her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.

The five-member ethics commission is a nonpartisan panel with representatives from Oklahoma's five congressional districts. They are appointed by the governor, speaker of the house, Senate president pro tem, chief justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court and the attorney general.
