Most Fires Under Control, Weather Change Helps Firefighters (Aug 05, 2012)
The National Weather Service forecasts high temperatures in the upper 90s across much of Oklahoma, nearly 10 degrees cooler than it has been over the past four days.For firefighters on the front lines of about a dozen wildland fires, the cooler temperatures and a slight chance for showers bring the promise of relief.Authorities report most of the fires are now under control, though still burning.Gov. Mary Fallin is meeting with first responders near Tulsa where a wildfire burned about 78 square miles of land.Investigators continue to search for a possible arsonist who may be responsible for setting a fire near Oklahoma City that burned nearly 60 homes and buildings.
