Sheriff Releases Suspected Arson 911 Call (Aug 06, 2012)

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s released audio of a 9-1-1 call from Friday of an eyewitness who says he saw a man start the wildfire near Luther. The caller told the dispatcher he saw someone in a blue/black pickup truck toss something from the vehicle.

The eyewitness also said the woods “exploded” in fire after the suspect vehicle left.

The sheriff’s office says dozens of homes were destroyed in the blaze, causing millions of dollars in damages. Officials estimate the fire burned 26-hundred acres in the Luther area.

The description of the arson suspect is a white male driving a black pickup truck.
