Polls Close in Primary Runoff Election (Aug 28, 2012)

The polls in Oklahoma have closed for this year's runoff elections.

Polls opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday and closed at 7 p.m.

The most-watched contest was for the 2nd Congressional District seat being vacated by Dan Boren, who announced in 2011 that he wouldn't seek re-election.

Longtime prosecutor Rob Wallace of Fort Gibson and Muskogee seed company owner Wayne Herriman are vying in the Democratic runoff, and Westville plumber Markwayne Mullin faced state Rep. George Faught of Muskogee in the Republican race.

Runoffs for legislative seats also are on Tuesday's ballot.
