NWS Issues Severe Storm Watch for 15 Counties (Sep 05, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for 15 counties in western Oklahoma.

The watch is in effect until 11 p.m. Wednesday and includes Alfalfa; Beaver; Blaine; Custer; Dewey; Ellis and Garfield counties. Grant; Harper; Kingfisher; Major; Roger Mills; Texas; Woods and Woodward counties also are included.

Forecasters say hail to 1.5 inches in diameter and thunderstorm wind gusts to 75 mph are possible in the watch area.

Authorities say a mobile home was blown off its foundation and some outbuildings were damaged in storms that moved through Gage early Wednesday.

Power lines and tree limbs also were downed as the storms rolled through the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.
