OK Senate to Expand Online Video Access (Sep 11, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Senate is expanding online video access to all of its committee rooms and installing monitors to display votes.

Senate President Pro Tem Brian Bingman announced the changes Tuesday and says the equipment is being installed to allow greater access to committee work.

He says additional technological upgrades are planned.

The House for years has had a system for online display and archive of video and audio on the House floor and audio from most of the committee rooms.

Bingman also announced a proposed rule change that will prohibit senators from presenting their bills in committee until they've secured a co-author in the House. He says this change will improve the work flow for both members and Senate staff.
