Ex-University of Tulsa President to Return to Post (Sep 21, 2012) TULSA, Okla. (AP) - The University of Tulsa says former TU President Steadman Upham will return temporarily as president following the firing of Geoffrey Orsak. The university said in a news release Thursday that the Board of Trustees has named Upham as president and that he's agreed to return for up to two years while the board searches for a permanent president. Upham served as TU president for eight years before retiring June 30 and accepting a teaching position at the university. Orsak was hired to take over effective July 1 but was fired last week by the board - which has given no explanation as to why. « back |
