OU Releases Dr. Fears' Lecture (Oct 16, 2012)

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The University of Oklahoma is releasing a lecture series from a renowned professor who died earlier this month at the age of 67.

The university says it will release professor Rufus Fears' series of lectures called ``The Story of Freedom in America.'' The lectures will be posted Thursday on the website for the Institute for the American Constitutional Heritage.

``The Story of Freedom in America'' is a complete, 18 lecture course that's free and open to the public. The university says the lectures explore the American experience of freedom from the Revolutionary War to the present day.

Fears joined the OU faculty in 1990 as a professor of classics. OU President David Boren says the lecture series is Fears' way ``of giving all of us one last gift.''
