State Education Dept. Releases A-F Grades (Oct 25, 2012)

Letter grades for all of Oklahoma's schools are now online. The State Board of Education approved the release of the A-to-F report cards at its meeting Thursday morning. The grades were supposed to be released earlier this month, but concerns over how one average was calculated led to putting off the full release.

State board members today approved the original criteria for judging schools, releasing the original report cards. A statement from Governor Mary Fallin's office says the grades "give parents, students, teachers and administrators an easy way to identify success."

Fallin acknowleged there are detractors over the new system. Some critics say the grading system fails to accurately reflect the progress of all students.
