Absentee Balloting Deadline Approches (Oct 26, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahomans who won't be able to make it to the polls on Nov. 6 have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to request an absentee ballot from state election officials.

Voters also can vote in-person absentee on the Friday, Saturday and Monday before the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax (ZEER'-iks) says election board officials already have distributed more than 66,000 absentee ballots, and nearly 32,000 Oklahomans already have been returned.

In order to be counted, completed absentee ballot affidavits must be notarized and returned to the voter's county election board by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
