More Oklahomans Head North for Sandy Support (Nov 02, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahomans from three relief agencies are heading to the East Coast to help with recovery efforts from Superstorm Sandy.

The American Red Cross of Oklahoma says two volunteers left Thursday for New Jersey in an Emergency Response Vehicle to help in response to the storm. A total of 14 Red Cross volunteers from the Sooner State will be on the East Coast to help in the recovery effort.

Oklahoma City-based Feed The Children also sent relief supplies to New Jersey that are expected to arrive Sunday to help children and families.

About 100 volunteers from the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief team were set to leave early Friday from Edmond for the Middleton, N.Y., area to help with storm cleanup.
