Konawa Remains Without Water (Nov 27, 2012)

KONAWA, Okla. (AP) - Residents of Konawa remain without water as crews work to repair problems with the town's water system.

The city distributed bottled water Monday night to residents in the Seminole County town. Oklahoma City television station KOCO reports that the town's 1,300 residents have been without water since Sunday night.

Officials don't yet know what caused the water system to fail. The city says it's hopeful service can be restored sometime Tuesday or later this week.

Konawa is about 70 miles southeast of Oklahoma City.
