Ice on I-35 Blamed for Fatal Wreck (Dec 10, 2012)

DAVIS, Okla. (AP) - A light mixture of snow and ice on Interstate 35 in the Arbuckle Mountains in southern Oklahoma is blamed for at least one traffic fatality and up to 40 separate crashes.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report says a Dallas man was killed about 6:50 a.m. when he lost control of the sport utility vehicle he was driving northbound on an icy bridge I-35 in Love County and rolled down the embankment.

The man's name was not immediately released.

OHP Trooper Betsy Randolph says the other accidents included one with no injuries involving a fire truck that was assisting with another accident.
