McAlester Native Claims FBI Harassment (Dec 12, 2012)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A McAlester native who was twice prevented from flying from his current home in Qatar to visit his ailing mother in Oklahoma says now that he's been allowed to return home, he's being harassed by local and federal law enforcement officials.

Saadiq Long, who is a Muslim, said Wednesday that since he's returned to McAlester, FBI agents have attempted to speak to him at his mother's home and again during a traffic stop in McAlester on Nov. 23, when he and his sister were ordered from their vehicle at gunpoint and handcuffed.

The 43-year-old Air Force veteran and U.S. citizen says he doesn't know why he was banned from flying or why the FBI has an interest in him.

FBI spokesman Ricky Rains in Oklahoma City declined to comment.
