Oklahoma Voices: Building the Devon Energy Center (Dec 24, 2012)

Major cities are known for the outline of the buildings that make up their skyline. The view of Oklahoma City’s tallest structures changed dramatically over the last few years as the new corporate headquarters for Devon Energy rose from a deep hole in the ground to its full 50 stories. On this episode of Oklahoma Voices, KGOU airs audio from a Greater Oklahoma City Chamber “Breaking Through” luncheon on the construction of what is now the state’s tallest building, and one of the tallest west of the Mississippi River. KGOU news director Kurt Gwartney also talks with Jack Money and Steve Lackmeyer, authors of a new book on the construction of the Devon Energy Center called Operation Scissortail, chronicling the building of the Devon Energy Center in downtown Oklahoma City.
