OKC Crews Brining Streets (Dec 24, 2012)

A dozen Oklahoma City road crews are pre-treating bridges and overpasses with a brine solution in advance of heavy snow forecast for the metro. The mix of salt and water is supposed to slow the formation of ice on elevated roads. The brining started at 10 a.m. Monday and is expected to continue through mid-afternoon. City workers will begin salting streets on emergency snow routes once it starts snowing. VIEW SNOW ROUTES
