Anthony Sworn In (Dec 28, 2012)
Oklahoma's longest serving statewide official has taken his oath of office in a career that has spanned four decades. Corporation Commissioner Bob Anthony took his fifth consecutive oath of office yesterday in the commissioner's courtroom of the Jim Thorpe Building. Anthony took his first oath of office in January of 1989. He is officially beginning his fifth six-year term on the three-member panel that regulates public utilities, telephone companies, trucking, and oil and natural gas production. Anthony has been a statewide officeholder longer than any other current elected official in Oklahoma. He is also the longest serving current utility commissioner in the nation. Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice Steven Taylor administered the oath.
