CAIR Says Muslim U.S. AF Vet Denied Flight (Feb 06, 2013)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations' Oklahoma chapter says a Muslim U.S. Air Force veteran was barred from boarding a flight while trying to return home to Qatar.

CAIR Director Adam Soltani says Saadiq Long attempted to board a plane at Will Rogers World Airport on Wednesday and was denied a boarding pass by the airline.

Transportation Security Administration spokesman David Castelveter says it was his understanding that Long's name is on a no-fly list - but that his agency doesn't maintain the list. FBI spokesman Rick Rains in Oklahoma City declined comment.

Long says he also had difficulty entering the country last year.

Soltani said Long had been visiting his ailing mother in Oklahoma for several months and was attempting to return home by way of Amsterdam.
