Fallin Attends OSU Wind Power Ceremony (Feb 15, 2013)

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin joined Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma Gas and Electric Energy Corp. officials during a ceremony to celebrate Oklahoma State's use of wind power as the main source of electricity for its campus in Stillwater.

Fallin attended Friday morning's ceremony with OSU President Burns Hargis and OGE Energy Corp. chairman, CEO and president Pete Delaney. OG&E serves nearly 800,000 customers in Oklahoma and western Arkansas.

The wind energy is converted into electricity at Cowboy Wind Farm near Blackwell. The 26-turbine wind farm was completed in December 2012 and began generating electricity for the campus on Jan. 1.

OSU officials say the Stillwater campus now receives 67 percent of its electricity from wind generation.
