Drumming for Derek (Nov 05, 2009) Derek Dugger has been drumming on the Oklahoma rockabilly circuit since the early 1990s, and has sat behind the skins for the R.I.P. tides, Brian Dunning and the Rock N Roll Trio, and was a founding member of The Poison Okies. In September, doctors diagnosed Dugger as having an aggressive tumor growing in his brain. A job switch cost him the insurance coverage that would have paid for surgery and chemotherapy, so the Road Killers Car Club teamed up with Derek's bands and friends to host a benefit concert Saturday, November 7th at the 66 Bowl in Oklahoma City. As he does each Thursday morning, the Oklahoma Gazette's Joe Wertz has more. Listen « back |
