Sometimes, It Takes 30 Years - Phil Lee (Sep 16, 2010)
For more than 30 years, Nashville singer/songwriter Phil Lee couldn't be more on the verge of success. In the early 70s, he jammed with Richard Thompson of famed English folk act Fairport Convention. He made friends with Neil Young and collaborated with Jack Nitzsche, an iconic producer and songwriter whose credits include acts like the Rolling Stones and Phil Spector, for a score on the 1980 Al Pacino film Cruising. Phil Lee gave up on "making it" about 10 years ago, and he's never sounded better. The Oklahoma Gazette's Joe Wertz previews Friday night's show at the Blue Door in Oklahoma City.
