Indian Times: Tribal Newspapers (May 18, 2009) This week on Indian Times, we continue with taking a look at tribal newspapers. One in particular was in the news again last week, and it?s the Osage News. Chief Jim Gray sent out an ?Executive Order? declaring the newspaper?s independence. Interim Editor Shannon Shaw talks about what this means for the future of the newspaper. Shaw is an award-winning journalist and a member of the Osage Nation. She is pictured with her son above. The 23rd annual Red Earth American Cultural Festival will be June 5-7 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
