Protesters Greet Halliburton Shareholders (May 18, 2006)
Construction and energy services company Halliburton held its annual shareholders' meeting in Duncan on Wednesday. It's the city where the company began more than 80 years ago, and the site of Halliburton's present-day technology and research center. Spokespeople say the change of venue was Halliburton's attempt to honor its Oklahoma roots, while critics charge that the company was attempting to outrun the protests that have dogged past shareholders' meetings (about 7 minutes).
