Cost of Wildfires Divides Administration and Oklahoma Lawmakers (Jan 18, 2007)
Fires between November, 2005 and September, 2006 torched over 800-thousand acres across Oklahoma and destroyed hundreds of buildings. The US Forest Service complains that fighting wildfires is straining its budget, and plans to transfer some of the cost to state and local governments. But as our Capitol Hill reporter Neil Simon reports, Oklahoma lawmakers may oppose that plan. Guests include Rep. Tom Cole, Rep.
