Oklahoma’s Congressional Delegation Reacts to Iraq Resolution (Feb 16, 2007)
A measure disapproving President Bush’s requested surge of 20 thousand American troops in Iraq has passed with the support of 17 Republicans who broke ranks to vote aye. But Oklahoma’s Congressional delegation divided cleanly along party lines – with the four Republicans voting against the resolution. A marathon debate on the issue took the better part of the week in the House of Representatives. Every member was given a chance to voice their opinion, and most of Oklahoma’s delegation took that opportunity to speak out before casting their votes. Benjamin Shaw reports from Capitol Hill (4:00).
