Conflicting Views on Earmarks (Oct 08, 2008)
Congressional earmarks account for less than one percent of the government’s overall budget. Entitlements, like Medicare and Social Security, account for the biggest slice of the pie. But both presidential candidates have made slashing earmarks a central part of their campaigns. Oklahoma lawmakers, however, aren’t ready to give up their spending power. Matt Laslo reports from Washington.
