OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma's chief finance officer says state revenue collections in February surpassed the same month a year earlier as consumer spending remained strong.

Office of State Finance Director Preston Doerflinger said Monday that preliminary calculations indicate collections by the state's general revenue fund last month totaled $247 million. That was $25.7 million, or 11.6 percent, above the same month in 2010 and almost $9 million, or 3.6 percent, above the estimate for the month.

Doerflinger says the state experienced double-digit growth again in sales tax receipts compared with February a year ago at a time when sales tax collections of other states trailed off

In addition, combined personal and corporate income tax receipts were $16.2 million, or 141 percent, above February one year ago.
