Okla. Treasurer Seeks Investigation of Employee (Jun 16, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - State Treasurer Ken Miller says he has requested an investigation of an employee of his office.

In a statement released Wednesday, Miller says he has learned of an allegation of wrongdoing by an employee. Miller didn't identify the employee nor did he describe the nature of the allegation.

Miller says the unnamed employee has been placed on administrative leave. He says he has contacted the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Attorney General's Office to help assess the validity of the allegation.

The treasurer says his priority is ensuring that the state treasury is protected and that the integrity of the office remains above reproach. He says he wants the office to be free of waste, fraud and abuse.
