UPDATE: FBI to Discuss Possible Bomb Found on Gas Line (Aug 11, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A spokesman for the company that operates an Oklahoma gas line where a possible explosive was found says he doesn't know of any threats made against the business.

The line is operated by Enogex — a subsidiary of Oklahoma Gas and Electric. Spokesman Brian Alford says Thursday that the company has not received any threats.

The device was found Wednesday on the gas line in Okfuskee County. It was discovered by deputy sheriff who thought it might be a bomb because of a timer attached to it.

FBI Special Agent Clay Simmonds says the device was removed by FBI and Oklahoma Highway Patrol bomb technicians and disabled — then sent to a lab for testing.

Simmonds said Thursday that more information will be released later in the day.
