OG&E Ordered to Pay Rebate to Okla. Customers (Aug 29, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Gas & Electric customers should be seeing a credit on their bills next month following an order by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

The commission issued an order on Monday that the state's largest electric utility give customers a credit totaling $4.2 million on their bills next month. According to the commission, the result will be a reduction of about $3.15 for the average residential consumer.

Commissioner Dana Murphy says the order resulted from OG&E's extension of a contract with its pipeline subsidiary, Enogex, that was never reviewed by the commission. The original contract for the transportation of natural gas was approved in 2003, but Murphy says an extension in 2009 was not.
