Tribes to Share $9.94 Million in Grants (Sep 07, 2011) OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Thirteen Oklahoma Native American tribes will share a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant of more than $9.94 million. HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan announced the awarding of the Indian Community Development Block Grant Program grants in a news release Wednesday. The money can be used for economic development, infrastructure or to create housing. The ICDBG program was established in 1977 to help Indian tribes and Alaska Native villages to meet their community development needs. « back |
