Soldier's Service Friday in Tulsa (Sep 23, 2011)

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A memorial service will be held in Tulsa for a 26-year-old Collinsville soldier killed in Afghanistan.

The service for Spc. Christopher Horton will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Tulsa's First United Methodist Church, 1115 S. Boulder Ave.

Horton was among three Oklahoma National Guard soldiers killed Sept. 9 in Paktia Province when their team was hit by small arms fire. Also killed in the attack were 26-year-old Sgt. Bret Isenhower of Seminole and 20-year-old Pfc. Tony Potter of Okmulgee.

Horton was a graduate of the Missouri Military Academy who enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard in 2008. He received numerous awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
