Indian Times: Cherokee Nation Perseveres to Elect A Chief (Oct 07, 2011)

This week on Indian Times…this is the final weekend for Cherokee Nation members to cast their votes for chief, & to make sure its reliable, the Carter Center Democracy Program is there to observe the election process. 
This past week, Apple founder Steve Jobs died…amongst his many accomplishments was his decision to include the Cherokee syllabary in his products.  We revisit a 2009 interview with Joseph Erb (Cherokee) talking about the positive possibilities created by having their native language accessible on iphones, ipods and ipads.
