OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Ethics Commission has determined there is no prohibition against the governor's spouse performing legal services for two state entities.

The panel voted unanimously on Thursday to allow Wade Christensen to provide legal services for the University of Oklahoma and CompSource, the state's workers' compensation insurance agency.

A practicing attorney, Christensen had represented both state entities but suspended his work after his wife, Mary Fallin, was elected governor.

An opinion by Oklahoma's attorney general already had determined there was no legal conflict, but Fallin spokesman Alex Weintz says the governor and Christensen wanted to "go above and beyond both the spirit and the letter of the law."

In a statement, Christensen says the ethics interpretation allows his firm to resume work with the two clients.
