Panel to Review DHS Settlement (Dec 27, 2011) A three-member panel made up of the state’s top political leaders is supposed to review a proposed settlement in a case against the Department of Human Services. The Contingency Review Board, which includes Governor Mary Fallin, House Speaker Kris Steele and Senate President Pro Temp Brian Bingman, meets Wednesday to consider the settlement with Children's Rights. The national organization sued the state over treatment of children in DHS custody. The board that oversees the state agency voted to accept the settlement last week. « back |
