WRWA Gearing Up for Fiesta Bowl Traffic (Dec 28, 2011)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The holidays are usually a busy time for Will Rogers World Airport, but officials are anticipating even more travelers as fans head to Arizona to watch Oklahoma State take on Stanford in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on Monday.

Airport spokeswoman Karen Carney says there will be seven charter flights in addition to the regular flights scheduled for Saturday. One charter is set for Friday and another for Sunday afternoon.

Officials say Transportation Administration employees will be working overtime to process passengers at checkpoints and in the checked baggage screening areas. Additional janitorial staff also will be brought in and airport maintenance personnel will be on hand for any emergencies.

Travelers are being urged to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flight and be prepared.
