OSU Wrestling Legend Roderick Dies at 77 (Dec 29, 2011)

STILLWATER, Okla. - Former Oklahoma State University wrestler, wrestling coach, and athletic director Myron Roderick died Wednesday.

Roderick wrestled at then-Oklahoma A&M from 1953 to 1956, where he won three national championships and placed fourth in the 1956 Olympic games in Melbourne.

Roderick was just 23 when he won his first national championship as OSU’s wrestling coach, eventually winning seven national titles in 13 years.

He returned to Oklahoma State in 1983 as the athletic director…where he hired basketball coach Eddie Sutton in 1990. Roderick was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1976.

Myron Roderick was 77.
