State Mayors Meeting to Discuss City Needs (Jan 17, 2012) OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Mayors from across Oklahoma are gathering at the state Capitol this week to debate some of the pressing issues facing municipalities. The second annual Oklahoma Congress of Mayors will convene Friday for a one-day "legislative" session. The event is open to mayors and vice mayors from across the state. Choctaw Mayor Randy Ross says the idea is to help develop legislative priorities for municipalities and develop solutions to bring to the Legislature. He says he hopes the event also will encourage mayors to make the jump to serving in the Legislature. The event is free and open to mayors and vice mayors. « back |
